We want it on-prem, so we stay in control
Your own server sounds like control. Then I ask who patches it and when a backup restore was last tested. Control is not where the machine stands, but whether someone demonstrably looks after it.

And will you be watching us through this?
The most honest question of the whole project is never asked in a meeting. It comes aside, at the machine, once the managers step away. And it deserves an honest answer, not evasion.

Software won't replace the people you don't have
A company feels it lacks visibility and buys a system. What it often lacks is a person who would own the topic. The system will not fill that gap by itself.
